Wonsan kiln Eiichiro Tamura was chosen as "a master craftsman of Awa" of 2024. In Tokushima, it commends the craftsman who contributed to industrial development through the technique with a prominent technique as "a master craftsman of Awa". Forest earthenware Yukio Mori and Yoshimi kiln Yoshihiro Takino were chosen in 2023. 

Master craftsman ... Tokushima of Awa has a prominent technique and, in a system to commend the craftsman who contributed to industrial development, is carried out from 1982. Their technique and passion have a big influence on culture of Tokushima and industrial development. I would appreciate your knowing the splendor of the industrial arts that Tokushima is proud of.
Otani ware
Pottery introduction
炻ki (kind of ceramics) which "Otani ware" is a ground of Oasachootani, Naruto-shi, and is made. It is said that the opening is around 1780 (Ansei 9). "Omika" having making earthenware in a set is the tool which is indispensable to "the indigo dyeing" that Awa is made specially in it for two people and, using a unique potter's wheel called shin**, is called "an indigo plant pot". Six potteries are scattering in the village of Otani now.
